Stewards are like that. They serve; they do what Jesus did among his people; they’re foot washers at heart. They carry out Christ’s work in each succeeding generation by humbly and repeatedly giving out the mysteries of God in his name and stead. Stewards are not museum caretakers or warehouse managers. Nor are they custodians or guardians of empty, dead traditions; stewards always remain servants actively giving out and distributing the gifts Jesus died and rose again to bring. And
